Tempe driver appearing to promote exciting April weekend
NASCAR Camping World Series West driver Moses Smith will be on hand to sign autographs and throw out the first pitch at Tucson Electric Park on Sunday, March 16 as the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Chicago White Sox at "Phoenix International Raceway Day" during Cactus League spring training baseball.
The first 2,000 fans in attendance at Tucson Electric for the 1:05 p.m. start will receive an official "PIR Can Coozie," and even more fun giveaways - including several Jeff Gordon-signed hats – will be up for grabs at the PIR pace car display on the concourse, where fans can take their picture with the Chevrolet Impala that's set to lead the field to the green flag for three straight nights in April.
Smith, a 31-year-old resident of Tempe, is entering his second season racing in the NASCAR Camping World Series West for Bill McAnally Racing, where this season he’ll pilot the No. 16 Hasa Pool Products Toyota. After a 12th-place finish in the series standings in 2007, Smith is regarded as a likely top-five candidate for 2008.
Information will be available for fans looking to buy tickets to any event throughout the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500™ NASCAR event weekend, including Saturday night’s Sprint Cup Series showdown under the lights, Friday night's Bashas' Supermarkets 200 Nationwide Series race, and Thursday night’s Phoenix 150 Camping World Series race, featuring Smith and a number of other NASCAR up-and-comers.
Tickets for Thursday also include admission to Coors Light Pole Qualifying for the Sprint Cup Series.
Don’t miss out on all of the racing fun at the ballpark!
