Leading consumer products brand to sponsor motorsports race in order to showcase innovative new kitchen waste bag product
Phoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber has announced that Pactiv Corporation's Hefty® brand will be the title sponsor of PIR’s November NASCAR Nationwide Series race - titled the Hefty® Odor Block™ 200. The race entitlement is the first with PIR for the Hefty® brand. The Hefty® Odor Block™ 200 is scheduled as the feature event for the third day of racing in PIR’s November NASCAR race weekend. The green flag drops on the Hefty® Odor Block™ 200 at 2:30 p.m. MST on Saturday, November 8, as Kyle Busch will look to defend his victory in the race from 2007. "We are pleased to welcome the quality Hefty® brand to our family of sponsors," Sperber said. “We are eager to work with the great people at Pactiv Corporation to put on an exciting event for NASCAR fans at Phoenix International Raceway this November.” The upcoming event will provide a showcase for the Hefty® brand to raise awareness for its new Hefty® Ultra Flex™ Tall Kitchen Bags with “Unscented” Odor Block™ technology - an innovative new category of kitchen waste bags that offer consumers a simple, unscented solution to help fight garbage odors, plus the same dependable and strong performance they expect from a Hefty® waste bag product.

”We are excited to team up with PIR as title sponsor of the Hefty® Odor Block™ 200 to showcase our new waste bags with Hefty® Odor Block™ technology,” said John N. Schwab, senior vice president and general manager, Pactiv Corporation. “This sponsorship also allows the Hefty® brand to extend its presence in auto sports racing and reach thousands of brand-loyal NASCAR enthusiasts who purchase innovative products like Hefty® Ultra Flex™ Tall Kitchen Bags with “Unscented” Odor Block™ technology to simplify their lives.” This sponsorship also enables the Hefty® brand to extend the value of its sponsorship of the No. 24 Hefty® Chevrolet driven by Eric McClure and powered by Front Row Motorsports in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. The No. 24 car is scheduled to participate in the November 8 event. Tickets for the Hefty Odor Block 200 and the remainder of the November NASCAR event weekend at PIR can be purchased online at www.phoenixraceway.com, or over the phone at 1-866-408-RACE (7223). Be a part of it all at PIR!
