"Stars and Stripes" Hat for Veterans Day
PIR Unveils Special Edition "Stars and Stripes" Hat to Celebrate Veterans Day
Wednesday, October 29, 2008
NASCAR fans at Phoenix International Raceway this November will have a chance to exhibit their American spirit, win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and look good while doing so.
To celebrate the upcoming Veterans Day weekend and to pay honor to the many current and past members of the American military forces, PIR has unveiled a limited edition "Stars and Stripes" logo hat in time for the Checker O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 Presented by Pennzoil weekend and into the 2009 season, while supplies last.
Each special edition hat - navy and embroidered with a red, white, and blue Phoenix International Raceway logo - costs $30 and can be purchased at PIR souvenir locations, the PIR Midway display, or at the Bashas' Supermarkets on-site store located just west of the track on facility property.
In addition, the Stars and Stripes hat will serve as the "Official Uniform Hat" at PIR for the event weekend. All proceeds from the special edition hat will support the track's Salute to Military Families program for the April 2009 SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500™, providing members of the military and their families the ultimate experience of attending a NASCAR event at PIR.
To top the American celebration off, one guest wearing the Stars and Stripes hat will be spotted by a PIR representative and given the opportunity to ride in the patriotically-themed Phoenix International Raceway pace car to open the Checker O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 Sprint Cup Series event on Sunday, November 9.
