A.J. Allmendinger, David Reutimann, and Phoenix’s own Michael McDowell are among the NASCAR drivers added to the appearance schedule for the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500™ weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. The Californian Allmendinger, a fan favorite for his quick wit and a sharp rise into NASCAR’s top 20 this season, will appear at Budweiser ROLL-BAR at 2:15 p.m. Friday. In seven Sprint Cup Series starts this season in the No. 44 Dodge for Richard Petty Motorsports, Allmendinger has two top-10 finishes - including a third-place finish at the Daytona 500 - equaling his total from 44 starts over two previous seasons on track. Reutimann is scheduled to appear at Trackside Club at 2 p.m. Saturday. Recently nicknamed “The Franchise,” Reutimann sits 11th in points in what has easily been the best start of his Sprint Cup career. The driver of the No. 00 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota captured his second Sprint Cup pole in the series’ most recent race at Texas, and has one top-five finish among five top-15 marks in seven starts this year. Currently 15th in Nationwide Series points, McDowell is scheduled to appear at Trackside Club at 1:50 p.m. Friday. The Phoenix native has made all five starts this season in the No. 47 Toyota for JTG-Daugherty Racing in NASCAR’s second tier. Also appearing for fans at Phoenix International Raceway throughout the weekend are Nationwide Series driver Burney Lamar in a fan forum at SPEED Cantina at 4:30 p.m. Friday, and Nationwide Series driver Ken Butler III at Budweiser ROLL-BAR at 1:50 p.m. Friday. As previously announced, Kyle Busch will make two appearances at the track before Saturday’s SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500™. Busch is scheduled to arrive at the luxury lounge Octane at 2:30 p.m. before appearing with spotter Jeff Dickerson at Budweiser ROLL-BAR at 2:45 p.m., just hours before the green flag of the eighth Sprint Cup Series race of 2009. It will feature the best in live entertainment with drink specials each day and night throughout the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500™ NASCAR weekend and a custom beer garden area to showcase the No. 9 Budweiser Dodge. Located just 50 feet away from the track and overlooking PIR’s backstretch, Trackside Club delivers unmatched views of the racing action, and a breathtaking look at the scenery of the surrounding desert from the outdoor terrace.
