March 6-8 FanShield 500 Speed Fest Weekend


Utah's Michael Self won a spirited three-way battle for the race lead over the opening two laps of the Casino Arizona 50 and cruised away for an easy victory in the NASCAR K&N West Series event at Phoenix Interntional Raceway on Saturday evening.

Dylan Kwasniewski, 17-year-old Californian, finished second to clinch the K&N West Series championship.Self was thrilled with the chance to race and win in front of the NASCAR Sprint Cup community, which looked forward to Sunday's Advocare 500 event.  

"It was a great show put on by Phoenix International Raceway," he gushed during the victory lane ceremony.Cale Conley, the pole-sitter who was part of the early battle for the lead, came in third.  Chase Elliott, the son of two-time NASCAR Winston Cup champion driver Bill Elliott, took fourth place.  Canada's Cameron Hayley finished fifth.
