AZ LOTTERY OFFERS FANS CHANCE TO WIN BIG
Phoenix International Raceway, the Arizona Lottery and Safeway are teaming up to offer race fans the chance to win big during PIR’s 50th anniversary season, PIR president Bryan R. Sperber announced today.
The Arizona Lottery and Safeway, the official grocery partner of PIR, will conduct a promotional sweepstakes in which fans can enter to win a grand prize VIP race experience package for The Profit on CNBC 500 Presented by Small Business Fueling America NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, March 2.
One lucky winner will receive two suite tickets to the March 2 race, the opportunity to attend NASCAR’s pre-race drivers and crew chiefs meeting, a behind-the-scenes experience at the pre-race concert and driver introductions, and the post-race celebration in Victory Lane.
Secondary prizes include grandstand tickets for The Profit on CNBC 500 and/or the Blue Jeans Go Green 200TM Presented by Cotton, The Fabric of Our Lives® NASCAR Nationwide Series Race on Saturday, March 1.
Fans, 21 and older, can enter the sweepstakes by purchasing $20 in Arizona Lottery Lucky Life Scratchers® at the Safeway located at 1855 N. Power Rd. in Mesa from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The first 75 participants also will receive one pair of tickets to the races on March 1 or 2, while supplies last.
The Lottery and Safeway also will team up throughout race weekend at PIR. Arizona Lottery tickets will be available for purchase at Safeway’s on-site grocery store in PIR’s campground, and the Arizona Lottery Ticket Trolley will be set up within Safeway’s Race Day Experience in PIR’s fan midway. Arizona Lottery’s Street Team also will be onsite with a “Spin-to-Win” promotion. Fans must be 21 and older to participate.

Phoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber announced today that Kristie Maggs has been promoted to Senior Director of Consumer Marketing and Partnership Activation. Since joining PIR in July 2007, Maggs has played an integral role in the marketing efforts of two annual NASCAR Sprint Cup weekends and the upcoming Verizon Indy Car Series – growing the track’s fan base through promotional opportunities with track partners and elevating the PIR brand.
Phoenix International Raceway participated in the inaugural NASCAR West Coast Media day at the Peterson Automotive Museum in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday. The event, which highlights the second season of back-to-back races at Las Vegas, Phoenix and Fontana, featured NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Aric Almirola, Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski. In addition to the upcoming 2016 season, the drivers as well as track presidents discussed the return of “NASCAR Goes West” including the Good Sam 500 at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, March 13.
NASCAR star Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 5 Great Clips Chevy SS for Hendrick Motorsports, attended Wednesday’s Phoenix Suns home game versus the Charlotte Hornets at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Kahne was in the Phoenix area to promote the start of the 2016 NASCAR season, the Daytona 500, and the Good Sam 500 at Phoenix International Raceway, which is scheduled for Sunday, March 13.
