‘FACE THE RACE’ PIT PASS CONTEST
Fans hoping to get their fifteen minutes of fame during Phoenix International Raceway’s Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 will now have their chance to shine with the newly launched ‘Face The Race’ Pit Pass Contest.
Beginning Wednesday, June 18 at 8:00 a.m. MST (11:00 a.m. EDT) fans can submit photos from their most exciting pit pass experience from past races at PIR. One lucky winner will be selected and his or her photo will appear on the November event weekend Pre-Race Pit Pass. The contest will close on Wednesday, July 2 at 11:59 p.m. MST (2:59 a.m. EDT).
To enter fans can visit the ‘Face The Race’ Pit Pass contest tab on PIR’s Facebook page, Facebook.com/PhoenixRaceway. Fans will be prompted to upload their photo along with their name, phone number and email. The winning photo will be chosen based on creativity, originality and visualization of the PIR Pit Pass Experience.
The Grand Prize winner’s photo will appear on the Fall 2014 PitPass and will be featured in the 2014 race weekend program. The winner will also receive four Pre-Race PitPasses for the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 NASCAR weekend, as well as four grandstand tickets to the Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Friday, Nov 6; four grandstand tickets to the Saturday, Nov 7 NASCAR Nationwide Series 200 race and four grandstand tickets to the semi-final race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Sunday, Nov 8.
The Pre-Race Pit Pass entitles pass holders to a variety of exclusive, backstage action on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race day, including:
Garage Walk Access: Catch a glimpse of your favorite driver or car as they roll out of the garage and onto pit road before the start of the race (participants randomly selected).
Driver Introductions: Access to pit road and the track to watch driver introductions.
Trophy Photo Opportunities: Pose in Gatorade Victory Lane with the iconic Sprint Cup Trophy prior to the race start.
Sign the Start/Finish Line: Sign your name or leave your favorite driver a good luck note on the famed Start/Finish line.

Phoenix International Raceway will officially be renamed Jeff Gordon Raceway on Nov. 15, 2015 for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500, PIR President Bryan R. Sperber announced today. The race is the semifinal race for the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and will be Gordon’s last Sprint Cup Series race at the track as a full-time competitor.

Kevin Harvick did something Sunday that no driver had ever done in the 52-year history of Phoenix International Raceway. The 39-year-old from Bakersfield, Calif. scored a victory in his fourth consecutive race in the same professional series at the legendary one-mile oval in the Arizona desert, leading 224 of 312 laps to win the CampingWorld.com 500.
Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano put on a dominating display at Phoenix International Raceway in Saturday’s AXALTA Faster. Tougher. Brighter 200, the fourth race of 2015 in the NASCAR XFINITY series.
Ruben Pardo earned his first NASCAR Mexico Series win at Phoenix International Raceway in the Toyota 120 on Friday. After starting on the pole, Pardo fell as low as 12th but fought back to the front in the late stages.
