TRAFFIC

Phoenix Raceway, in collaboration with the Department of Public Safety, Arizona Department of Transportation, Maricopa County’s Department of Transportation and Sheriff’s Office, and the cities of Avondale and Goodyear, recommend the following when traveling to the raceway:

  • When exiting I-10, follow the directions of event signs and traffic control personnel to guide you to the track for the quickest and safest route.  During the Can-Am 500 event weekend at PIR, traffic safety will deploy more than 4,000 traffic cones, 600 barricades, approximately 75 people, and numerous special signs and vehicles to help ensure safe travel for the nearly 100,000 fans heading to the track.

  • Race fans can call 511 and press *7 when prompted for traffic updates. Additionally, fans can check for traffic updates on Twitter at Twitter.com/PhoenixRaceway.

  • On Sunday, the Can-Am 500 should conclude at approximately 4 p.m. with the heaviest outbound flow of traffic expected to take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. During this period, motorists traveling on I-10 will experience intermittent closing of Exit 131 (Avondale Boulevard) to allow for the successful egress of race traffic.

PARK ‘N RIDE ENCOURAGED FOR SUNDAY

Due to the expected race day traffic on Sunday, Nov. 13, PIR and local authorities are encouraging fans to utilize the highly efficient Park ‘N Ride program.  Park ‘N Ride is located at the Ak-Chin Pavilion, just two blocks north of I-10 on 83rd Avenue (Exit 135).  PIR has partnered with Divine Transportation to provide fans with temperature-controlled motor coaches while riding to and from the track. . ADA compliant shuttle services will be available to make sure all race fans are able to get to the track safely. All NASCAR fans planning to use the Park ‘N Ride option are advised to enter Ak-Chin Pavilion at the 83rd Avenue entrance and park on Pavilion grounds. Buses will transport patrons to a location near Gate 4 at the track. Pick-up after the race will be from the same location.

Park ‘N Ride services will be available from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., giving all NASCAR fans an alternate transportation option, before and after the race. The first shuttle will depart at 7:30 a.m. The raceway opens to the public Sunday at 8 a.m.

Cost for parking and shuttle services to and from PIR is $10 per car for fans without PIR-issued parking passes. Guests with PIR-issued parking passes or with a government-issued disability parking placard or plate can utilize the Park ‘N Ride at no charge.
