    NASCAR STAR MATT KENSETH SHOWS OFF HIS BURNOUT SKILLS IN DOWNTOWN PHOENIX

    NASCAR star Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota Camry, wowed race fans in downtown Phoenix when he revved up his Camry and performed a burnout on 3rd Street. Kenseth, the 2003 Winston Cup Champion and a two-time Daytona 500 winner, was in town to promote the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, Nov. 9.

    HAYLEY ORRANTIA TO PERFORM NATIONAL ANTHEM PRIOR TO QUICKEN LOANS RACE FOR HEROES 500

    Fans at Phoenix International Raceway will be in for a thrill at the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 when Hayley Orrantia, one of the stars ABC’s hit sitcom “The Goldbergs,” performs the national anthem on stage before the start of the race. The final Eliminator race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1:00 p.m. MST (3:00 p.m. EST) and will be televised live on ESPN.

    PIR-BRANDED ARIZONA LICENSE PLATE NOW AVAILABLE

    NASCAR fans in Arizona can now officially share their passion for motorsports with a new auto accessory, courtesy of a new Phoenix International Raceway-designed Arizona license plate. The license plate, featuring PIR’s distinctive light-blue mountain scape background and the traditional PIR and NASCAR logos, is now available from the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles. A portion of the sale of each license plate and yearly renewal will benefit PIR’s non-profit organization, Phoenix Raceway Charities.

    PIR TO SPONSOR FORMER UFC® CHAMPION DOMINICK CRUZ IN FIGHT SEPT. 27

    Former UFC® bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will return to the Octagon on Saturday, Sept. 27, and he will do so with the backing of Phoenix International Raceway. Cruz, who served as the Honorary Pace Car Driver for the March 2012 SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500™, will wear shorts adorned with the PIR logo during the fight. Cruz’s 2012 race appearance and the fight sponsorship are the result of a partnership between PIR and Niner Sports & Entertainment.

    HARVICK TO APPEAR AT BUDWEISER ROLL-BAR CLUB

    NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet, is scheduled to appear at Phoenix International Raceway’s Budweiser ROLL-BAR Club for a question-and-answer session with NASCAR fans before the Quicken Loans Race For Heroes 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, November 9. The specific time of Harvick’s appearance will be announced at a later date.
