    'THE PROFIT ON CNBC' TO SPONSOR CUP RACE

    Phoenix International Raceway announced today that CNBC’s “The PROFIT,” the popular entrepreneurial reality series returning for a second season on February 25 at 10PM ET/PT on CNBC, has joined the track’s team of corporate partners. As part of the new relationship, “The PROFIT” will act as the official title sponsor for the track’s March 2 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event: ‘The Profit on CNBC 500, Presented by Small Business Fueling America.’

    NASCAR MEXICO TOYOTA SERIES RETURNS TO PIR

    Phoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber announced today that the NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series will return to Phoenix on Friday, February 28 with the second running of the Toyota 120. PIR remains the only track in the United States to host a race for the NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series.

    FOX SPORTS AZ TO AIR COUNTDOWN: GREEN FLAG

    FOX Sports Arizona and Phoenix International Raceway are excited to announce that an episode of the network’s popular “Countdown” franchise featuring PIR will air tonight at 5 p.m. MST. The show is a continuation of the longstanding partnership between the network and the race track. Additionally, two new “PIR Classics” episodes in anticipation of the spring NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend.

    BIG CHANGES COMING TO PIR IN 2014

    During his annual “State of the Sport” address this morning, NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France announced changes to the Sprint Cup Series scoring system which will affect the initial makeup of the field in the Chase for the Sprint Cup as well as the Chase itself.
