GM VP Brent Dewar to Join France and Hendrick at PIR Business Summit

Leader of GM marketing initiatives appearing with two of NASCAR's most powerful
(PHOENIX, Ariz.) - Phoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber has announced that General Motors North America Vice President of Field Sales, Service, and Parts Brent Dewar will join NASCAR CEO Brian France and six-time NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series championship owner Rick Hendrick on the panel at the PIR Business Summit: A Look Behind the Numbers, set to begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 9.
Dewar is responsible for the sales, service and parts operations for each of the five GM Regions in the U.S., as well as Fleet and Commercial, Order Fulfillment and Marketing Sales Support groups. During his nearly 30 years of service with General Motors, he has held many sales and marketing leadership positions in North and South America.
Prior to this assignment, Dewar served for two years as General Manager of Chevrolet, launching an unprecedented 10 products in 20 months, as well as the largest advertising campaign in the Division's history, Chevrolet: An American Revolution. In just over two years, An American Revolution has become the sixth-most recognized advertising campaign by consumers in automotive history. Under Dewar's leadership, Chevrolet also made significant gains toward sales leadership, which was finally achieved in 2005.
In its fourth year of existence, the PIR Business Summit will present an opportunity for businesses and their leaders to learn the story of NASCAR's meteoric rise amid the landscape of the professional sporting world.

Sperber also announced the hiring of Kristie Maggs as Consumer Marketing Manager.
Maggs joins PIR after spending three years as Strategic Marketing and Communications Planner with HES, Inc. in North Phoenix. Prior to her appointment there, Maggs was a Marketing Associate for four years at Nautilus, Inc.
Maggs graduated from Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Kristie and her husband, Tim, have a five-year-old daughter, Katie.
