NASCAR Releases 2008 Sprint Cup Schedule; PIR to Host Two Dates for Fourth Consecutive Year
Wednesday, September 26, 2007

April weekend moved earlier; Chase race intact

(PHOENIX, Ariz.) - In line with NASCAR's release of the 2008 Sprint Cup Series schedule, Phoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber announced today the schedule for the 2008 NASCAR season at PIR, noting that PIR will maintain its spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup and move its April event one week earlier.

With the Sprint Cup Series taking on its new name in 2008, the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500™ weekend at PIR will also assume a fresh look, moving one week earlier to Saturday, April 12. The NASCAR Grand National Division West Series kicks off the nighttime excitement on Thursday, April 10, followed by the NASCAR Busch Series Bashas' Supermarkets 200 under the lights on Friday, April 11. As in its first three years, Saturday's SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500™ will run under PIR's bright lights, with 43 of NASCAR's finest creating one of the most intense atmospheres in all of motorsports.

NASCAR returns to Phoenix for its traditional fall weekend in November, taking the track from Thursday, November 6 to Sunday, November 9, including Sunday's Semi-Final Showdown in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. All three of NASCAR's top divisions - the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the NASCAR Busch Series, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series - will head to the West Valley as the championship chase comes to a close.

Fans looking for a head start in planning their 2008 season at PIR can now purchase the 2008 NASCAR Ticket Pack, which includes admission to all races in both exciting weekends of NASCAR action.

In addition to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series tickets, the NASCAR Ticket Pack also allows fans two opportunities to watch the young stars of the NASCAR Busch Series, an exciting night of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series action, and a pair of Thursday night races featuring the NASCAR Grand National Division West Series and the USAC Midget and Silver Crown Series.

Also currently on sale are single tickets to both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500™ and the NASCAR Busch Series Bashas' Supermarkets 200 in April.

Tickets can be purchased by phone at 1-866-408-RACE (7223) or online at www.racetickets.com 24 hours a day. The PIR Ticket Office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 125 S. Avondale Blvd., just south of I-10 at Exit 131 in Avondale.
