Convoy of Hope

As NASCAR returns to the Valley of the Sun for the first-ever NASCAR Championship Weekend in Arizona, Phoenix Raceway, The Joey Logano Foundation and The NASCAR Foundation are partnering with Convoy of Hope to bring hope and thousands of pounds of food, water and hygiene supplies for those that need it most in local Arizona communities.

On Monday, November 9, after the conclusion of NASCAR Championship Weekend, families in need can visit Phoenix Raceway to receive a box of supplies in a safe, socially-distanced manner via a drive-thru distribution. The contactless distribution will ensure the safety of staff and the program’s deserving guests.

“We’re proud to host this incredibly important event immediately following NASCAR Championship Weekend,” said Phoenix Raceway President Julie Giese. “What Joey, his foundation, The NASCAR Foundation and Convoy of Hope have been doing for communities across the country this year has been amazing and we’re so honored to be a part of this initiative and to support those in need here in Arizona as the 2020 NASCAR season comes to a close.”

“This year has been a trying time for all of us and one of the things that has stuck with me over the last six months is that we all are in this storm together, but we’re in different boats,” said NASCAR Cup Series star Joey Logano. “By partnering with the NASCAR Foundation, Phoenix Raceway and Convoy of Hope, we’re hoping that we can make the storm a little easier to weather for the people in Arizona. We did a few Convoy of Hope mobile distribution events earlier this year at Darlington, Martinsville and Talladega so it only seemed fitting to cap off the 2020 NASCAR season with another in Phoenix area. I’m thankful to be racing for a second Cup Series Championship but that Cup is just an empty trophy at the end of the day. Being able to give back and all of the work the Joey Logano Foundation has done this year in partnership with NASCAR Foundation is what fills that cup up.”

The distribution event will take place at Phoenix Raceway on Monday, November 9, from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. MST. This is the fourth event that The Joey Logano Foundation and The NASCAR Foundation have teamed up with Convoy of Hope since NASCAR returned to racing in May. Previous events were held at Darlington Raceway, Martinsville Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway.
