SUBMISSION PERIOD: Between March 6, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) and March 9, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. PT (the “Submission Period”), you have a chance to submit potential names and mascots for the motorsports racing themed high school that is being built in Tolleson, AZ.  

 

HOW TO SUBMIT: During the Submission Period, visit the website https://www.phoenixraceway.com/mascot-vote/ or scan the submission QR code on banners located in and around the Phoenix Raceway and fill out the submission form with your name and email address, along with your suggestion for the name of the high school and your suggestion for a mascot.  There is no limit on the number of names and/or mascots you may submit, but you must submit each pair of suggestions (one name and one mascot) in a separate submission.  By submitting a name and/or mascot suggestion and providing your e-mail address, you are agreeing to receive marketing e-mails from Phoenix Raceway, subject to its privacy policy, as stated below.  All submissions become the sole property of the Tolleson Union High School District (“District”).   By submitting a name/mascot suggestion, you release and relinquish any and all rights to claim ownership, control or other credit for the name/mascot.

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:  All potential names and mascots submitted must comply with the naming policies of the District and must not be similar to the names and mascots of other schools in the District or surrounding districts.  For clarity, the other high schools in the District include:

 

Copper Canyon High School (Aztecs)

La Joya Community High School (Lobos)

Sierra Linda High School (Bulldogs)

Tolleson Union High School (Wolverines)

University High School

Westview High School (Knights)

West Point High School (Dragons)

Lighthouse Academy

 

Potential names and mascots may refer or relate to motorsports racing generally, but must not use names, imagery, or other trademarks and trade dress of the Phoenix Raceway, NASCAR, or any of the teams, drivers, sponsors, tracks, or other entities participating in NASCAR racing.

 

OWNERSHIP AND USE OF SUBMISSIONS:  By submitting a proposed name and/or mascot for the new high school, you release, relinquish and transfer to the District any and all rights in the name/mascot you submitted.  Phoenix Raceway will gather and process all of the submissions and will pass along to the District for consideration at least the top five proposed names and top five mascot suggestions most closely aligned to the motorsports racing theme, in the sole discretion of Phoenix Raceway.  Phoenix Raceway may provide additional names/mascots from the submission process upon request of the District.  The District is under no obligation to select any name and/or mascot from the list provided.  The District will make the final decisions regarding the name and mascot for the new school.  Neither the District nor Phoenix Raceway will provide any credit, recognition, or other benefit to any individual submitting a name or mascot for consideration, even if the District chooses a name from this submission process.  Once the District has selected and approved a name and mascot for the new high school, Phoenix Raceway will post the selection on its website.  The timing for that selection is in the sole discretion of the District.

 

ELIGIBILITY: The submission process is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are thirteen (13) years of age or older (or 16 and older if a resident of California).

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS: All submissions must be entered by hand, individually.  Automated submissions will be discarded, in the sole discretion of Phoenix Raceway. By participating in this name/mascot submission process, participant agrees: (1) to release, discharge and hold harmless Phoenix Speedway, LLC dba Phoenix Raceway, National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, LLC, Tolleson Union High School District, each of their parents, and their subsidiaries, limited liability and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their respective shareholders, officers, directors, employees, members, agents and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from liability of any kind or nature for any loss, claims, damages, or injuries of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly from  participation in this name/mascot submission process and (2) to abide by, and be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the decisions of Phoenix Raceway and the District relating thereto, which shall be final. Released Parties are not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the name/mascot submission process.  Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the submission process.  Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to any person's computer or mobile device related to or resulting from participating in this submission process or downloading materials from or use of the website.  If you use a mobile device to make your name/mascot submission, standard data charges may apply from your carrier.

 

OPERATOR: This submission process is hosted and operated by Phoenix Speedway, LLC d/b/a Phoenix Raceway, a limited liability company, having its principal place of business at 125 South Avondale Boulevard, Suite 200, Avondale, Arizona 85323.
