At the Avondale Tres Rios, participants learned about nature, including animals and plants, while also learning about the history of the Phoenix Raceway track built into the Estrella Mountains.

Phoenix Raceway and the Larry Fitzgerald Foundation have partnered to present the Beyond the Finish Line field trip program—an immersive STEM experience centered around motorsports. Since its launch in 2023, the program has welcomed over 325 students across seven field trips, giving them a hands-on introduction to the exciting intersection of STEM and racing.

The NASCAR Foundation, alongside dedicated volunteers, assembled bicycles to be donated to students at P.H. Gonzales Elementary School. In addition to receiving a new bike, each student was provided with a helmet and participated in a bike safety lesson—promoting health, independence, and safe riding practices.

Phoenix Raceway Campers joined the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4 drivers for an onsite volunteer event with Baskets of Hope. Together, they assembled 1,000 gift baskets for children battling cancer and other serious illnesses. The baskets were later delivered to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, spreading hope and encouragement to young patients and their families.

Phoenix Raceway’s Zoom Crew was a part of the CARnival at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix. Children were able to tour many different vehicles including the Phoenix Raceway pace car and learn about the different uses of a pace car during a race weekend and throughout the year.

The First Lap Experience is designed to introduce new and diverse audiences to the excitement and intricacies of NASCAR in an engaging, accessible way. Participants not only attend a live race but also take part in a customized educational experience that deepens their understanding of the sport. GILBERT TRUCK-A-PALOOZA
The Gilbert Truck-A-Palooza allowed for children to go inside the Phoenix Raceway hauler and learn about the mechanics that go behind loading and unloading the show car. In the show car, children were able to sit inside and see what a NASCAR driver sees when they are racing. They could rev the engine and try to turn the steering wheel.

The Guardian Games provided a fun day for children with learning disabilities to compete in various activities. At the Phoenix Raceway display, they had the opportunity to drive remote controlled cars on a diagram of Phoenix Raceway and drive around the track, while performing pit stops and maneuvers to avoid wrecking and staying on course.

Phoenix Raceway brought high-octane energy to the court at PHX Arena during the Hall of Fame Series ASU vs GCU basketball championship. Fans enjoyed a unique in-game entertainment relay race, interactive displays, and exclusive giveaways, all showcasing the unique excitement of NASCAR.

Since 2023, Phoenix Raceway—through its partnership with The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation—has provided access to free mobile mammogram services in the Phoenix Raceway campground and at the Avondale Resource Center. To date, 190 free mammograms have been offered, helping to increase early detection and expand healthcare access for women throughout the community.

WESTPOINT DRIVE FOR DIVERSITY
Phoenix Raceway and The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation partnered to donate an iRacing simulator to West Point High School in Avondale, AZ—bringing a unique, hands-on racing experience to the classroom. In addition, Microsoft developed a complementary Engineering in Motorsports curriculum, which continues to be taught at the school, inspiring the next generation of innovators in STEM and racing.
